A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF PTSC
AW shucks – couldn’t get the first show in
due to the weather, wouldn’t you know it?? It would have been a cold weekend
even if Lone Wolf had been completed or it had not rained out our arena. Snow
flurries would have been tough to ride in!! We’ll all be even more ready for
the May show with the extra time to ride and to get those winter coats off
the horses!!
As you will see in Misty’s report, the
show committee has agreed to double point the June show, not May, because of
the initial cost of the season’s first show. High
Point nominations and sponsorships must be turned in by the first show in
order for points to be accumulated. Double entry fees will be applied in
June.
If you missed the last general meeting,
you really missed out on information every horse hauler needs to know. I know
that I had a list of things I needed to do to get my trailer and
truck-hauling ready!! Glen wasn’t
able to finish his discussion on truck and trailer safety so it will be
continued at the next meeting. I have also asked him to make a safety
checklist of the things we discussed and will be discussing so that all
members will have access to this information. Thanks to Robert’s Tire for
coming to our meeting and giving us so much information on tires and tire
safety – we appreciate it!
Be sure to check out all the information
in the newsletter to find out about upcoming events – trail rides, clinics
and shows!! We are a busy club and need all the volunteers we can muster up.
The PTSC T-shirts are being made now –
there will be some for sale at the next club meeting and horse show. We may
not have your size, so fill out your apparel order form and we can get them
custom made just for you and your family. They look really great! It will be fun to see a bunch of these blue
shirts at our events!
Don’t
forget your Coggins Test papers. Coggins
Tests are required for all horses used during the PTSC show season. At
the first show of the year these papers will have to be presented at the
entry booth upon registration for the show. Please have your Coggins ready
to present in order to show. Periodically throughout the show season,
this will be repeated. This is not only a PTSC rule, it’s the
law!! Until the next time we
meet – SUE
Sue if you have any questions or comments about PTSC.
The next
PTSC Membership meeting is MAY 8
PTSC Youth meet at 6
pm and the general membership at 7 pm at the Family Center in Harrisonville.
Glen will talk more about DOT regulations regarding weight and trailers and
safety. We hope to see you there!
2008 meetings are June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, and
October 9. Please pay your 2008 PTSC
membership and High Point fee as soon as possible.
