Clinic Committee: Kristy Arendall
Kristy reported that their first clinic got rained out but they did get to have their Trail and Jumping Clinic and had about 13 show up for that. Thanks to all that came out, it was a really nice day.  We will try and have more clinics in the fall.  If you have any ideas for a clinic let her know.  Check the PTSC Clinics page to see the latest information on upcoming clinics.

Sponsorship Committee: Sara Petermann
Hi everyone, it's that time again!  I am working on a letter to go out to all of last year’s sponsors asking them to re-up. If any of you prefer to contact the sponsors you signed up in previous years please let me know as soon as possible.  Don’t forget to get your High Point sponsorship for this year.
Your help is needed in re-signing sponsors.  Signing up new sponsors is welcome and appreciated by our club. - Sara

Trail Ride Committee: Leanna Rhodelander
Check out the PTSC Trail Riding page for the rides we have planned so far.  If anyone can think of any places to go on our rides send an email to Leanna.
June 21st is going to be here before we all know it.  It is going to be the official first trail ride.  I am hoping to be out there around 1:00 (I have to work that day).  Everyone is more than welcome to get out there earlier and start riding if you would like.  The trail ride will be from 1:00 to 6:00.  Around 5:00 I would like to have a PTSC dinner.  So everyone bring 2 dishes to the outing.  If you have anything that needs a refrigerator let me know and I might have room in mine.  I am going to bring hamburgers and hot dogs so let me know if you are coming and how many is in your family.  Remember that it is a PTSC member’s only trail ride.  Anyone can come and join that day if they would like.  We will have member sign up forms available.  Please call and let her know if you will be attending. Cell 816-258-1873 or e-mail lroadlandr@aol.com. Hope to see you all there.  Happy trails to all, Leanna

Trail Classes: Joe Smith
I've been doing my homework and will have a couple of trail patterns ready for the shows.  Since we stated in our show bill that we would be following AQHA Ranch Trail rules I thought I would send this group information on what that exactly means.  This class was almost made for the area we have done trail in the last couple of years, now known as the PTSC swamp.
A Ranch Trail class is designed to show your horse’s willingness to perform several tasks that might be asked during the course of a normal workday on the ranch. This class consists of 10 obstacles. Three are mandatory; 1) opening, passing through and closing a gate, 2) dragging a log a short distance and 3) dismount, drop your bridle and re-bridle, pick up all four feet and remount. The horse will be judged on three gaits; the walk, trot and lope being performed between the obstacles.  Some of the other optional obstacles may include crossing a water hazard, or a bridge, ground tying, side passing, carrying a slicker from one spot to another, and roping a stationary steer. Whenever possible, natural or realistic obstacles are encouraged.  Check out AQHA Rule 477(g) on Trail Classes at www.aqha.com .

Grounds Committee: Glen Ferguson
A big thank you goes out to Helen and Bo Gilbert for keeping the grounds at the arena mowed and trimmed. Chris and Leanna Rhodelander spent some time working in the arena pulling back the sides and leveling the ground. Travis Hill went up to the arena, or Lake Peculiar Tenderfoot, as we like to call it, and begin cutting a trench to help with the drainage of the excess water.  He was only able to cut part of it out. We will let the water drain off, and then come back and continue with the trench.  Hopefully our trail area will be drained off and dry for the July show.... When you see these people please tell them Thank you, they spent their time doing this for YOUR club. – Glen

PTSC Youth: Misty & Cheyenne Ferguson
The PTSC Youth group is active in youth activities, raffles, local community activities, workdays and just having fun at the horse shows.  President Cheyenne Ferguson reported at their last meeting the youth talked about community service projects.  They will be having a bake sale at Pleasant Hill Feed.  No date has been set as of yet.   They are also volunteering to help out at the horse shows.  They will be having another meeting July 10th at the Family Center at 6:00 pm before the next PTSC membership meeting.  If you have any ideas for the PTSC Youth, the webpage, or would like to help please contact Misty.

You can contribute to your saddle club by being a board member or by participating in a PTSC committee or by voicing your opinions and ideas at our meetings. Attend the monthly meetings the second Thursday of the month at the Family Center in Harrisonville.
Be involved—it’s your club!

If God had intended man to walk, he would have given him four legs.
Instead he gave him two - one to put on either side of a horse. - Montana Rancher
