A MESSAGE FROM THE
PRESIDENT OF PTSC
Happy wet May and June to
you all – what a spring we are having and what a show season we are not
having!! Well, at least we got part of May’s show in on May 10th. It was a wet, COLD and soggy day, but we
had a great turnout of exhibitors, new and old. If you were not at the last
general meeting, it was decided to have our shows at the North Park Arena in
Harrisonville. This facility will be a wonderful place to hold our shows.
With two covered barns, sand filled arena and plenty of parking; we should be
able to accommodate the larger shows it looks like we will be having this
year. One thing we were lacking at this show, besides the sun, was
volunteers. Please step up and help out the show committee by volunteering
for one of the positions offered during ONLY one of the disciplines. We are
not asking for you to give up your entire day, but just a portion of the day.
I know that I cannot be of help during the rail classes with my daughter and
me showing, but I will be available to help during the running events. I know
that there are plenty of opportunities for families to volunteer their time
for one or more of their family members during the year. I would like to see
the volunteers that are signed up to NOT be the regulars – maybe some of the
new members can become a part of the show and learn how they are run!
Overall, our show was a success and can only get better.
We are going to
have a great show season this year. It was discussed at the May &
June general membership meetings to hold all our shows at North
Park Arena in Harrisonville, so this facility will be a great
place to hold our bigger shows!
Be
sure to check out all the information in the website & newsletter to find
out about upcoming events, trail rides, clinics and shows!
Don’t forget your Coggins Test
papers. A
Negative Coggins Test is required for all horses during the PTSC show
season. At the shows the Coggins test will have to be presented at the
entry booth upon registration for the show. Please have your Coggins
ready to present in order to show.
This is not only a PTSC rule it’s the law!
On a final note - we have a great club filled with fun members; let’s make
our shows a “have to attend” event!! I’m sure that July’s show will be
sunny, warm and full of FUN! See you
then – Sue
